Pilates at the Humble Abode

I have to admit I’ve been skeptical about Pilates. Just another fad exercise program, I thought. Until I finally decided to give it a try at the Humble Abode West Hollywood salon. Probably the best thing about Pilates is how it makes you feel like every muscle has been used to the point where you’ve gotten to know your body again for the first time in you can’t remember how long. The Pilates system is designed to increase both strength and flexibility and this Hollywood day spa really has it down.

A good Pilates class will develop controlled movements and work on strengthening the core, often through the use of resistance training. The sign of a good class is the readiness of the instructors to recognize and deal with the individual needs of the students, and I really felt that I received that kind of attention at the Humble Abode salon in West Hollywood. Though this was my first Pilates experience, it was truly positive. I’d taken some Yoga classes before, and could always tell from the beginning if the teacher was in tune with the students’ needs or not. Taking a class with an instructor who is adaptable and observant can make all the difference in the world in targeting your Pilates experience to your own personal needs. It’s essential to getting the most out of your Pilates practice.

At the Humble Abode, the instructor paid attention and really designed the class to suit individual needs. After just a few classes, I can already feel more aware and in control of my body, as though it truly belongs to me for the first time in my life. Pilates at this West Hollywood salon is my time of the week to relax and release for a a workout with just the right combination of exertion and control.

Now that I’ve gotten into my new Pilates exercise program, I’m finding I have more energy and peace of mind. If you’re looking for Pilates in West Hollywood, the Humble Abode is a good option for balanced and individualized classes. Not to mention that this day spa in Hollywood provides more services for the ultimate relaxation when it’s been a particularly stressful week. I’m partial to the Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy massage.
